So I had this idea for an interesting twist on a creative server. So basically, players have to collect their blocks to build with themselves. This would generally be done by punching the block you want to take until it breaks. Some blocks will also require a special tool, like a pickaxe, to successfully harvest. There are also special blocks (ores) which give materials which can be used to make new and better tools. There would also be animals which you can kill for food and items like leather or feathers. There could also be hostile NPC's such as the spider or the skeletal man, which the player can choose to fight or avoid. Liquids, such as water and lava, can be carried in a bucket. I feel that this would make a more challenging and rewarding creative game mode.

thats a dumb idea i wouldnt even pay to be able to do that what the hell what a dumb idea you should feel bad you dont know anything about the community and what people want in a game
Creative servers are cool at first, but relatively useless if the plots are under 128by128. Players beg and plead for additional plots, and it gets quite annoying. The second point I'd like to bring up is that creative servers attract REALLY young players. in the past couple of months, I have been doing some projects of my own (lets just leave it at that), and the majority of players who join a creative server are 12 or younger. That may be alright for most servers, but not for our community at least. Those players will be more than likely scared away, or just leave after playing for a little bit. I do have to admit that there are not as many creative servers as faction wars servers (less competition), but, the people attracted to this genre of servers are quite young. Additionally, when you advertise, new players tend to stay longer than a faction wars server. This is probably because creative servers do not require that much effort to get started, and they are all pretty much the same. Now, the pretty much the same thing is going to kick in. Unless you have a completely original idea, and a good 2,000$ to advertise with, you will probably not be in luck. Keep in mind that after these players finish building on their plot, most of them will not donate, and leave. A small percentage may stay, and a smaller percentage may donate. All in all, after experimenting myself with this game mode, I would not recommend investing much time and effort into a creative server. If the Novia community was up to it, creative servers do not take the longest time to set up, and may be a cheap option to expand the community.

Waste of resources, we have this cool thing called creative mode in game for a reason and as if there aren't millions of other shitty creative servers out there.
