Do you want potions?

A question lingering in the back of my mind as I configure plugins for the revamped server is whether or not I should allow potions. A lot of the suggestions in the Suggestions forum are asking for potions, but when I ask individual players, they say no potions. So I'm gonna make a poll here and you can vote whether or not you want to have a potion-filled PVP experience on the revamped server.

If you say yes to potions, please, please, please list the type of potions you think are necessary, and the type of potions you think are unnecessary or too OP as a reply. I want to know what sort of potions the community wants and doesn't want.

I want potions, but not potion PVP.
The potions you have suggested would be classified as PotionPvP. You are just further proving how little you know about this matter.

I have mentioned, multiple times actually, that I really don't care what huge PVP servers are doing or have done in the past. Christ, those servers are a fucking plague, because they produce people like you with the thoughts that EVERY pvp server EVER needs to have what they have, or else it's destined to fail, and then cite their popularity as proof that what they do works. You don't see past their p2w OP gimmicks, you tell their story by the book, and you're all really obnoxious about it--thinking you have the know how on running a successful server. The Minecraft community has a large and diverse pool of players. There are tons of players who are willing to play on a server like ours, and who will love the gameplay we will bring to them. If they see that we don't have what they want, then great, obviously we aren't their type of server and they'll find somewhere else to play. I'm not becoming a sell out here and copying exactly what other servers have because then we just play a game we've already lost: Why should they play on Novia when they can play on a more populated server with the same exact shit?
The shit you are proposing to implement into your server has already been used on so many servers, so how is that original?

lmao, alright dude. If you think you know exactly what it takes to run a successful server right now then be my guest. Come on Teamspeak and I'll give you server keys to access our dedi. If you can even figure out how to get to the fucking screen, then the server is yours bud. You can be the "completely different staff team" that the server needs right now and I'll resign.
I would rather do other things than talk to a gang of idiotic buffoons. Plus, I have played a major role in making what is now a 1000+ PvP community, so I don't feel the need to prove myself to a group of people who have no idea what they're doing.

I wish you more luck to you, K9Rosie, than I've ever wished to anyone before in my life, as I have a better chance of walking on the Sun than you have creating a server that has something better than a 30 player base average.

What's wrong with debuff potions? I can see people using them as a counter to buff potions.

Here's where you're wrong rosie. Those servers popularity IS proof. It's living proof that their ideas work. Does not matter how you advertise, how you play the game, that way of gameplay is the way factions works. Whether or not you/we like it, those servers produce results and results are what you need, not "unique and thoughtful gameplay" like you are trying to introduce.

Hey rosie, update: I DO have the know how on how to run a server, and guess what; so does most of this community. We've given you our input like you've asked, and you've blatantly turned it aside because our ideas are not straying away from the successful server model (whoah, crazy right). This "large and diverse" minecraft community is not as diverse as you might think. Servers that host random mini games and factions dominate the sea of many servers. Servers you see on /r/admincraft are about as diverse as it gets and none of their server produce results. They are solely kept up by the owners paying out of pocket for the joy of minecraft, something that this community is not here to do. It's brutal but it's honest; you need the players to keep the server online. When you have the player count, THEN you can go ahead and change something to your liking. You can then afford it.

That is an absolutely terrible way of gaining any sort of player base. The thought that accompanied novs' server where players were just a number and could've easily been replaced. This is a newer version of minecraft. Every player needs to be catered to no matter how large and stupid the idea. Every player needs to have some sort of say. If that player THEN does not agree, god speed.

The ideas your staff team has put forth, and I say your staff team bluntly because you are large and in charge and anyone who doesn't agree is immediately told otherwise, have clearly not worked. The factions server model you had when you opened the server, before you changed anything, was very unique and was a good start to this server. You went ahead and changed shit right off the start, that was a huge mistake costing players. Then you sided with players, you lost more. Then you blamed the server's failure on the model it was built on, you lost more players. This server didn't fail because of the gameplay aspect, it failed because you simply do not know how to run a server in this day and age. Sure, you're an intelligent person and I have nothing but respect for you (something that isn't mutual), but this server you have planned is going to shit the bed, hard; and because of the way it's run, not the way it runs
